Turtle Hatchery Program

As part of Nirwana Gardens’ corporate social responsibility efforts, we work hand in hand with the local community to protect and conserve the surrounding environment.

Witness one of nature’s miracle! Newborn turtle release usually happens between June to September every year at the Banyu Biru Villa Beach, Nirwana Gardens.

The Green and Hawksbill Turtles climb ashore to the beaches of Bintan Island twice a year to lay their eggs. Our Nirwana Gardens conservation team will collect and bury the eggs in a sheltered hatchery to protect them from predators and poachers. The eggs will be conserved for approximately 60 days before they hatch. Then the released of the newborn turtles will happen within 3 days after the first egg hatched.

Guests who are delighted in joining us for the release of hatchlings, please come to the Banyu Biru Villas beachfront to have a once-in-a-lifetime experience together with your family and friends.

The event was participated by enthralled adults and children alike, all of whom contributed positively and directly to the role of conservation for these endangered species.
